Save-the-date: Information day for evaluation of large research infrastructures, 15th September

On Tuesday, 15th September 2020, from 9:00 to 12:00 CET, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) will organize an information day on the next cycle of international peer-review assessment of large research infrastructures of the Czech Republic, to be held in 2021. The information seminar will be arranged as an introduction to the international evaluation methodology (.zip), and the monitoring and assessment criteria thereof. Due to the ongoing epidemiological situation, the information seminar is supposed to be organised in a virtual form as a videoconference, using the Microsoft Teams platform.

The 2021 international peer-review assessment of large research infrastructures of the Czech Republic will take place to obtain independent expert background to adopt an informed political decision of the Czech Government to financially support large research infrastructures from public funds of the Czech Republic in 2023–2029, and to further update the Roadmap of Large Research Infrastructures of the Czech Republic. The subject of the evaluation will be the large research infrastructures approved by the Czech Government for financial support from public funds of the Czech Republic in the period up to 2022. For these large research infrastructures, the assessment will be an interim one. In addition to that, brand new proposals of large research infrastructure projects, for which the evaluation will be an ex-ante assessment, will also be subject to the evaluation.

The eligibility criteria for the submission of new large research infrastructure project proposals will be specified by the end of August 2020, and subsequently published on the website of the MEYS and large research infrastructures web portal.

Representatives of currently funded large research infrastructures, for which the evaluation will be an interim assessment, will be automatically invited to take part in the information seminar through their responsible persons, who are also in charge of ongoing large research infrastructure support projects.

Other interested parties to participate in the information seminar must notify their interest in advance at the e-mail address of Ms. Renáta Chudáčková Renata.Chudackova@msmt.cz from the Department of Research and Development – Unit for Research Infrastructures of the MEYS, to receive a connection link.

The 2021 international peer-review assessment of large research infrastructures of the Czech Republic will be organised according to the enclosed international evaluation methodology (.zip). The MEYS requests that any questions on the assessment methodology framework are asked on individual basis only after the information seminar has taken place. Afterwards, any possible queries or accompanying questions about the methodology will be consulted on an individual basis.
