Apply for traineeships in ESA until 28th February 2022

University students in their final year of a Master’s degree in engineering, sciences or business disciplines and those who have recently graduated from a Master’s in one of these fields have the opportunity to submit until 28th February 2022 their applications to the Young Graduate Trainee programme of the European Space agency (ESA).

ESA’s Young Graduate Trainee (YGT) Programme, which lasts for one year with possible extension to a second year, offers a unique opportunity to work on inspiring space missions at the heart of European space activities in positions in engineering, science, IT and business services.

ESA opens approximately 100 YGT positions each year. The traineeships take place at a selected ESA facility and are remunerated by ESA starting at EUR 2 300 per month.

Only citizens of ESA Member States, Associate Members and Cooperating States can apply for the Programme. YGTs are required to have completed their Master’s degree by the time they start work at ESA.

Overview of opened positions is available at the ESA´s career portal.

Student internships

Besides the YGT´s, ESA offers also the short-term internship opportunities from three to six months to students preferably in their last or second-to-last year of a Master’s degree. Interns must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship.

The eligibility criteria are similar to the YGT programme. Short-term trainees are granted an allowance of around EUR 600 per month. Opportunities are published in November each year. More information is available at the ESA websites.
